Sure it's possible but it's not trivial and I'm preparing for the first 
release candidate of 0.11, so now is probably not a good time to be 
introducing new features. I'd rather not do it right now unless others 
think this would be useful as well.

More complex. What exactly do you want this hook to do? E.g. should it be 
called every few seconds with the client ID and the number of bytes 
transferred so far? And would others find this useful as well? What 
exactly is it for?
