It's not in the original code, it's one of the safety features that I 
added at Ben's suggestion. The problem is that if we can't delete the 
cached store info, and the backup aborts or is killed without writing 
another one, then the next time bbackupd starts, it will try to use the 
same cached info again. bbackupd will not know that a previous backup was 
half-completed, because the client store marker has not changed.

I'm told that this could have very bad consequences, although I don't know 
what they are.
