[Box Backup] I have the fear....

So, I installed boxbackup to play with since it best satisfied my
requirements (backup to remote site, remote storage and all net
traffic encrypted, etc.) and left it alone to do its thing for a
while.

After a couple of weeks I wanted to validate what it had done, so ran:

# bbackupquery "compare -a" quit
Box Backup Query Tool v0.10, (c) Ben Summers and contributors 2003-2006
Using configuration file /etc/boxbackup/bbackupd.conf
Connecting to store...
Handshake with store...
Login to store...
Login complete.

Type "help" for a list of commands.

Local file '/etc/genkernel.conf/genkernel.conf' has different contents to store file '/etc/genkernel.conf'.
Local file '/etc/host.conf/host.conf' has different contents to store file '/etc/host.conf'.
Local file '/etc/nsswitch.conf/nsswitch.conf' has different contents to store file '/etc/nsswitch.conf'.
Local file '/etc/conf.d/clock/clock' has different contents to store file '/etc/conf.d/clock'.
Local file '/etc/conf.d/wireless.example/wireless.example' has different contents to store file '/etc/conf.d/wireless.example'.
Local file '/etc/fonts/fonts.dtd/fonts.dtd' has different contents to store file '/etc/fonts/fonts.dtd'.
Local file '/etc/init.d/named/named' has different contents to store file '/etc/init.d/named'.
Local file '/etc/init.d/nscd/nscd' has different contents to store file '/etc/init.d/nscd'.
Local file '/etc/init.d/pg_autovacuum/pg_autovacuum' has different contents to store file '/etc/init.d/pg_autovacuum'.
Local file '/etc/init.d/spamd/spamd' has different contents to store file '/etc/init.d/spamd'.
Local file '/etc/init.d/syslog-ng/syslog-ng' has different contents to store file '/etc/init.d/syslog-ng'.

So the messages are odd to start with... the file name is repeated on
the local side. But besides that, it really hasn't backed up the
newer version correctly. I restored the backup and only the files
mentioned in the validate are incorrect (so that is at least good).

But when I checked into /etc/genkernel.conf in detail I saw that there
were two versions in the backup repository, the newer one had a date
shortly after the source file modify time (so it spotted the change),
but the contents of both versions were identical, so something got
messed up.

Are either the bad messages, or the messed up backups known problems?

Is there a fix? Is there any additional information that I can
provide that would help debug this?
