I am investigating the use of boxbackup to back up the data on my Mac to a Linux server I am renting online.
So far, it looks pretty good, the upload is finished, and I am about to test the restore, but I am wondering about this kind of messages in the log file:
Upload decision: [file] will not upload (mod time is 1263678366000000 which is outside sync window, 1352615762644431 to 1383377779593262)
- 1263678366000000 = Sat, 16 Jan 2010 21:46:06 GMT
- 1352615762644431 = Sun, 11 Nov 2012 06:36:02 GMT
- 1383377779593262 = Sat, 02 Nov 2013 07:36:19 GMT
This is my configuration :
UpdateStoreInterval = 0
MinimumFileAge = 0
MaxUploadWait = 0
KeepAliveTime = 120
FileTrackingSizeThreshold = 65535
DiffingUploadSizeThreshold = 8192
MaximumDiffingTime = 120
I set MinimumFileAge and MaxUploadWait to 0 thinking it will disable the "outside sync window" messages, but it didn't make any difference.
(by the way, this piece of information is badly missing in the documentation ! http://lists.boxbackup.org/pipermail/boxbackup/2006-April/002425.html )
Could someone explain the meaning of the message ? I fear that boxbackup doesn't save everything it should.
