It seems a network timeout locks up the client everytime the sync is running. I find the client doing nothing each morning I come to work. Today I ran the client with "bbackd -DVT" and attached strace to it. I'm attaching the outputs of both the process debug log and strace. I forgot to pipe stderr to tee from the strace process, so only the last messages are in the log. Just ask me to strace it again if it is not enough. Thank you for your help. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Just ask me to strace it again if it is not enough. I don't know exactly what's going on here, but I do have some ideas. It would be great if you could run an strace with "-s 128" (so I get full messages) and "-tt" (show times in microseconds) so I can see where it's waiting and for how long. Also, which version are you running and where did you get it, and on what OS? Is the machine that you're running it on a laptop? Is it possible that your IP address changes while the sync is running? Is the client behind NAT? Is the server behind a stateful firewall? Cheers, Chris. -- _____ __ _ \ __/ / ,__(_)_ | Chris Wilson Cambs UK | / (_/ ,\/ _/ /_ \ | Security/C/C++/Java/Ruby/Perl/SQL Developer | \__/_/_/_//_/___/ | We are GNU : free your mind & your software |
